Two sisters have opened a sweet shop that harks back to times gone by while also offering a modern twist.

Sweet As A Button – run by Hayley and Miranda Button – sells traditional sweets in jars but also gives sweet toothed little ones the chance to have milkshakes made out of their favourite treats. There are also sweets, chocolate and ice cream selections to suit people with special dietary requirements.

The sisters remember visiting the village sweetshop as children, which has since closed. “We just thought that is what is missing,” said mum-of-one Hayley.

It is the latest business to join Kings Langley’s thriving High Street – there’s also a recently opened coffee shop next door.
