Facebook group set up to save social centre

CAMPAIGNERS have stepped up their efforts to stop a social centre being pulled down to make way for a chaplaincy.

More than 50 people have joined a Facebook group called Save New Mill Social Centre, Tring, which was set up to raise awareness about their plight.

Churches Together in Tring want to sell off the land to developers so it can pay for a chaplaincy to serve Tring School.

Members of groups that use the hall have been against the idea because they will lose their venue and also memories they have attached to it.

Social network users have posted pictures from the past and anecdotes about experiences they have had in the hall on its Facebook page.
