With just days to go until its grand relaunch, Jarman Park’s new ice rink – the only one in Herts – is taking shape thanks to a £800,000 facelift.

Planet Ice at the former LeisureWorld complex in Hemel Hempstead will be opening its doors on Friday with family ice skating session from 7pm – and the fun continues with public sessions on both Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 4pm single skaters and families, plus free taster sessions.

Chief executive Mike Petrouis said: “It’s really busy on-site right now getting everything ready for the opening night. All the staff are really upbeat and enthused to get started.

“We are really pleased with the rink renovations and hope the Hemel community enjoy the facilities too. We have to give a special thank you to the people of Hemel who campaigned to keep a rink open locally as well as the support from local media too. Here at Planet Ice we want families to come and enjoy the facilities together as we know how important family time is.”

Function Rooms DJ Dave Groom will hit the decks for a special one hour set during the opening night, while the Heart FM Angels will be visiting over the weekend.
