HEMEL Hempstead Town Cricket Club is set to play host to a charity cricket match on Monday.

The Perry Groves World XI and the Luther Blissett XI will go head to head in the Rocastle Test 2011 as part of a day of fundraising.

The game starts at 11am, with proceeds going towards the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Arsenal Herts and Beds are the driving force behind the day and, as well as Groves and Blissett, they have signed up famous faces such as former QPR player Mark Birchall and Ashley and Don Walcott to take part in the event.

There will be lots of cricket fun on offer, as well as a barbecue, a duck race, and plenty more.

Arsenal Herts and Beds chairman Ben Roberts said: “It’s our biggest local event of the summer.

“If people can’t make it on the day they can still be involved by buying raffle tickets on hbarsenal.co.uk or by texting ROCK 67 and the amount to 70070.”
