Businesses will be serving up cups of coffee and tasty cake to help raise cash in the fight against cancer.

Many Hemel Hempstead workers have already signed up to the worldwide Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday, and there’s still time to join the effort.

Dacorum Communities for Learning and Warners End Community Centre are inviting people to pop along for a cuppa between 10am and midday at the community centre in Stoneycroft, Hemel Hempstead. Visitors will also be able to find out more about the events, courses and activities that run there.

The Fishery Inn pub will be selling coffee and cakes from 9am to midday.

Also hosting coffee mornings are Barclays branches in Wood Lane End and Bank Court, St Benedict’s Church in Barnacres Road, Travelodge in Wolsey Road, Marks and Spencer in Marlowes, the Bridgewater Arms Hotel in Little Gaddesden and The Green Man in Leverstock Green Road.

In 2012, a total of 115,000 people signed up to the annual coffee morning raising a record £15million.
