People hoping to buy their own council home will have the chance to quiz housing staff and experts at an event next week.

The drop-in session is being held by Dacorum Borough Council in the Civic Centre in Marlowes, Hemel Hempstead, on Wednesday from 3.30pm to 6.30pm.

Council tenants will be able to speak to Right to Buy housing staff to find out about eligibility, costs and how to apply.

Government spokesman Sarah Southerton said: “We have raised the maximum Right to Buy discount to £75,000 outside London, bringing home ownership within reach of many more eligible council tenants.

“If they’ve been a tenant for five years or more, they could be eligible to buy their home at a discount.”
