FIREFIGHTERS rushed to put out a fire started after a child played with matches at their home.
White Watch was called to the end-of-terrace property at Queensway, Hemel Hempstead, on Thursday (January 13) at around 7.15am.
The crew put out the fire in minutes using hose reels and breathing apparatus.
Crew commander Michael Probet said: “The crew spoke to the parent and made them aware of the issues of leaving matches out and we fitted smoke alarms.
“We would urge people to check smoke alarms and, if they haven’t got them, to get them fitted.”
