THE first new recruits taken on by Herts police in two years will include three officers joining the strength in Hemel Hempstead.
A total of 22 new recruits took part in a passing out parade in front of the Chief Constable Andy Bliss on Thursday.
Many of the graduates have been waiting for more than three years to become full time police officers.
The new recruits joining Hemel Hempstead are Jonathan Onyon, 26, Angela Mckay, 34, and Paul Purvis, 35.
Mr Bliss said: “I’m really pleased the force is able to recruit new officers at a time when there is a lot of concern about police budgets.
“Some forces are not recruiting but because of turnover together with rigorous control of budgets and savings from collaboration work with Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire police forces, we are pleased to be able to welcome new colleagues.”
