Father Christmas arrived at the Kings Langley Christmas Festival aboard a flash car and flanked by storm troopers and a wookiee from the Star Wars franchise.

The bearded man was paraded through the High Street on Saturday led by the Revelation majorettes as part of the festivities.

Crowds braved wet weather to browse stalls and enjoy on stage performances, which included Kings Langley Primary School Choir, the village Community Choir, jazz singer Sara Anne Hawkins and folk band Whinlatter, while Radio Dacorum was broadcasting live from the event.

The event is organised by Kings Langley Parish Council and Community Action Dacorum (CAD).

Loretta Anderson from CAD said: “There weren’t as many people as normal but it was still busy.

“The only thing that was disappointing was that we had to cancel the fireworks because it was too windy.”
