The volunteer group has worked hard to spruce up the gardens on Tring’s High Street, along with the council’s help. Group member John Allan said: “As a result of a lot of hard work by Dacorum staff and the Friends of the Tring Memorial Gardens, the garden is now looking very beautiful. A suitable memorial and a lovely place to walk round, or sit and admire.”

The coveted award indicates to visitors that the green space boasts the highest standards.

Berkhamsted’s Canal Fields and Chipperfield Common also retained the award – judged by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy – for the second year running.
