Gritters are on standby as more snow could be on the cards this week according to highways chiefs.

Head of highways at Herts County Council Vince Gilbert said: “Low temperatures, ice and perhaps even some more snow are on the cards this week, so please be careful if you’re out and about.

“The gritters are on standby, ready to help keep main transport routes moving, covering 2,500km of roads on each gritting run.”
