Jewellery, cash and an expensive watch were stolen during a broad daylight burglary at a village cul-de-sac.
The thieves targeted Seabrook Road in Kings Langley between 8.30am and 4.10pm, forcing entry into the back of a house.
One of the items they stole was a Breitling Chronometre Navitimer watch with a brown leather strap – valued at thousands of pounds on internet jewellery websites.
Assistant investigator Kevin Deudon said: “The watch is quite distinctive and I would like to appeal to anyone who may have seen or been offered this item for sale.
“The owner is keen for this to be returned as it is of sentimental value.”
The burglary happened last Friday and anyone with any information should contact Mr Deudon on the Herts Police non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference number C2/14/1157.
He said: “I would appeal to anyone who may have seen any suspicious vehicles in the area on the day to contact police with information.”
