Do you have what it takes to sleep out in the elements and raise awareness of homelessness?
DENS is asking for volunteers to take part in a sponsored sleep-out in St Albans to raise funds which will help Dacorum’s homeless.
Anyone is welcome to take part in the event, but children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Young people aged 12 to 18 are welcome in groups of up to eight, with at least one adult per group.
DENS spokesman Anna Rackett said: “There are many reasons to take part in the sleepout – it’s great for raising awareness about homelessness and highlighting the issues homeless people face.
“It’s an opportunity to raise money through sponsorship, and it’s a challenge but also great fun!”
The sleep-out takes place 9pm until 7am on Friday, December 6 in the grounds of St Albans Abbey. Refreshments and toilets will be available throughout the night.
