16,000 responses in new homes survey
More than 16,000 responses were generated in the latest consultation on house-building plans for Hertfordshire and the East of England.
People were asked to comment on four different scenarios ranging from 26,000 to 33,000 extra homes in the region each year until 2031.
For Dacorum this means a range of between 300 and 620 new homes a year over the same period.
The number destined for the borough has dropped dramatically following a successful High Court challenge to the East of England Plan, which meant a green belt review and thousands of extra homes in Hemel Hempstead were quashed.
Two thirds of those who took part in the survey favoured the lowest growth rate of 26,000 homes a year, or even fewer.
Developers on the other hand supported higher numbers.
The consultation, organised by the East of England Regional Assembly (EERA), ran between September and November last year.
