Nurses from across the county will be joining together for the first time to support International Nurses’ Day.
A conference run by the four NHS trusts covering the whole of Hertfordshire – including the West Herts NHS Trust behind Hemel Hempstead, St Albans and Watford hospitals– will bring nurses together from across the region, on the day which also marks 194 years since the birth of Florence Nightingale.
With the theme ‘Nurses: A Force for Change’, the event is designed to highlight how Herts nurses are responding to the healthcare agenda.
Alan Walton, associate director for health development at the University of Hertfordshire, which is facilitating the conference on May 12, said: “This partnership and conference will celebrate how nurses across the county are ‘stepping up’ to overcome the challenges of today’s nursing workforce in Hertfordshire.
“We are delighted to welcome speakers with international, national and regional profiles reflecting the breadth of nursing specialisms we have here.”
