The chief executive of a high -tech company in Kings Langley has been knighted in the New Year Honours.
Sir Hossein Yassaie of Imagination Technologies Limited, on the Home Park Estate, received a knighthood for services to technology and innovation.
Sir Hossein said: “This distinguished honour means a great deal to me both personally and professionally. I have always wanted to make a real difference by what I do and I see this honour not only as a major recognition for past effort but as a real encouragement for the future.
“I strongly believe success in life also depends on support and commitment from family, friends, work colleagues and business partners. I have been very fortunate in this respect and see this honour as much theirs as mine.”

The firm’s products are the power behind Apple’s iPhones and iPads; various Samsung Galaxy handsets and tablets; and a range of devices from Sony and LG.
l Caroline Tapster, former chief executive of Hertfordshire County Council, received a CBE (Commander of the British Empire) for services to local government.
l A civil servant from Tring received the MBE (Member of the British Empire) for public service. Alison Game was lately personal assistant to the clerk of the House of Commons. Mrs Game declined to comment on her award.
