Hints and tips for landlords at free information evening

Landlords in Dacorum are being offered tips on renting out their property at a free information evening.

Those who attend the Landlords’ Forum event, which is being run by Dacorum Borough Council, will be privvy to information and advice on a range of property rental issues.

A number of housing and business experts will be giving talks at the event on Monday, September 21 between 6pm and 8pm in the Bulbourne Room at Hemel Hempstead Civic Centre.

Tracy Vause, the private sector housing lead officer at Dacorum Borough Council, will give an overview of Dacorum Borough Council’s Help to Rent scheme which provides guaranteed tenants for landlords in the borough.

Julie Cremins, Digital Jobcentre and Universal Credit Manager will be discussing the benefits some tenants may be receiving.

Peter Loughlin, business development manager at OneE, will be handing out tax compliance advice, as well as talking about maximising the use of ‘statutory reliefs within legislation’ and ‘tidying up your property portfolio’.

Morgan Steel, Dacorum Borough Council’s anti-social behaviour team officer, will provide information about a new support package for dealing with anti-social tenants.

The evening will begin at 5.30pm for registration with a 6pm start.

There will be an opportunity to speak to officers from council services and other agencies.

“You’ll get the latest update on important changes to legislation that affects landlords, along with a chance talk to experts on all aspects of lettings your property.”
