The hard work of gardeners has bloomed into an impressive display at Gadebridge Park’s Walled Garden.

Fragrant hyacinths in purple, pink and white have brightened the historic garden signalling that winter is finally over and spring is in full flow.

The flowers are complemented by pansies, which were grown by the town’s Sunnyside Rural Trust.

Planning for the beautiful spring display begun last summer.

Parks and open spaces officer for Dacorum Borough Council Rob Cassidy said: “Myself and my manager sit down to plan it.

“We order the bulbs at the end of the summer so we get together in early to mid summer.

“The hyacinths were chosen for their smell. We went for a range from white to purple.”

For the summer, visitors can enjoy the flowers of begonias and marigolds in a flame coloured theme.

Rob said: “It’s a real team effort from my manager to the guys working on the ground.”
