Politicians say that bar one ‘oversight’ all future planning inquiries relating to Berkhamsted will be held in the town.
Enforcement action requiring a man to pull down two family homes he has built in Bank Mill, Berkhamsted, was ordered by Dacorum Borough Council last August.
His appeal against the decision – taken because he did not have the appropriate planning permission – will be held at Hemel Hempstead Civic Centre on Tuesday, February 25.
Ted Dyer told a Monday meeting of Berkhamsted Town Council that the inquiry should be held at Berkhamsted Civic Centre.
The authority’s planning chairman Laurence Handy put it down to an ‘oversight’ that would now be too costly to change.
He said: “In future, if they concern Berkhamsted, they will be held here.”
