A BIG bank will give £3,000 to a hospice team which offers specialist home care to thousands of people who suffer from life-limiting illnesses.
The New Year treat will be given to Iain Rennie Hospice at Home after members of the public voted the Tring-based charity their favourite good cause out of three charities listed on Natwest’s website.
Nominations for the bank’s nationwide Community Fund project were opened in July.
Last month, the most successful charities were given the chance to compete for a top prize of £3,000 in regional groups of three.
IRHH was chosen as winner for an area covering Chesham, Berkhamsted, Tring, Aylesbury, Princes Risborough and Thame.
IRHH fundraiser Linda Petrons said: “We are absolutely thrilled. The £3,000 will make a tremendous difference to local people.”
Runners-up The Anaphylaxis Campaign, which helps people with allergies, and WheelPower, which helps young disabled people get involved in sport, will receive £1,000 each.
