More than 2,500 people flocked to Pendley Meadow in Tring for the town’s biggest annual two-day concert.

Highlights of the two outdoor shows over the weekend included the West End stars of Cool Britannia getting people singing along to pop songs on Friday night and the spitfire flyby wowed crowds on the Saturday.

About 1,600 people braved the rainy weather on the first night while Saturday brought better weather and almost 1,000 people.

The event, which is put on each year by CEO of Grass Roots David Evans, also benefits local organisations and schools.

It was postponed from the Jubilee weekend in June to make sure it could attract as many people as possible but it was still down on last year’s event, which attracted 5,000 people.

Grass Roots spokesman Charlotte Jackson said: “It went really well and everyone had a great time.”
