A police officer has pledged to try again after being forced to pull out of a fundraising Three Peaks Challenge after one of his team was injured.

Ricky Brennan, from Leverstock Green, Hemel Hempstead, was joined by pals Adam Manning, David Wilson and Gavin Sandford for the challenge earlier this month.

In a bid to raise cash for armed forces charity Help for Heroes they made it up two of the peaks - Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike –before being caught out by a snow whiteout, when visibility was just two feet. The trio got lost and one of them suffered an ankle injury forcing a premature end to the adventure

The Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the highest mountains of Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours.
