If you’re looking for a half-term diversion that doesn’t involve a cinema trip or relying on the weather, check out what the Alban Arena has in store next week.

Michaela Strachan’s Really Wild Adventures books in for an afternoon performance on Tuesday at 2pm, as the former TV favourite aims to take families on a delightful journey through an alphabet jungle of animal rhymes.

From antelopes to zebras, and taking in orphaned orangutans and polar bear dentistry, it’s a whistlestop interactive show full of poetry, puppetry, music and lots of fascinating wildlife facts.

Audience members will be invited on stage to explore a particular snake’s particularly horrid habit, a very lucky dad will get to play a polar bear and everyone can join in Animal Pop Idol.

It’s suitable for children aged three to eight. A family ticket for two adults and two children is £30, call 01727 844488 for other box office options.
