Jack’s back, so don’t expect too much jollity

It’s never been that difficult to distinguish between Jack Dee and a ray of sunshine, but in recent years it’s been well-nigh impossible to catch the sardonic stand-up in action.

While he’s been concentrating on sitcoms and a panoply of panel show appearances, not to mention helming iconic radio quiz I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue, he just hasn’t had time to hone a new show and take it out on the road.

But that’s all changed now, and Jack is back with his first nationwide progress for six years, which includes a date at the Watford Colosseum on Monday, March 11.

Grumpy old men are a comedy staple, but to be fair to this master of the mordant he’s always been grumpy, but he’s just got older – and even more exasperated with the endless infuriating aspects of modern life.

Why is he touring again? In his own words: “I want to spend less time with my family.”
