PEOPLE interested in martial arts will be able to see demonstrations and take part in taster sessions at the launch of a new gym space
Tring Martial Arts Black Belt Academy will be celebrating its expansion into a building that formerly housed the town’s brewery on Akeman Street with a ribbon cutting and open day on Saturday, January 7 at 1pm.
It will be a celebration of six years of hard work by business owner Christopher Allen and also a chance for members of the public to meet the instructors and find out if martial arts is for them.
Mr Allen said: “Throughout all this time my dream and ambition has been to open my own academy, purposely equipped for the instruction of martial arts.
“It took about nine months to transform the old Tring Brewery unit into our academy and I would like to thank all the parents and students who came to help us decorate, and to John Minshull our architect.
“Also, thanks to Dacorum Borough Council and Tring Parish Council who were both very supportive of this enterprise.”
The club offers kickboxing, self defence, cage fitness, Filipino and krav maga martial arts training six days a week to children aged from six and to adults.
