THE bright lights of Las Vegas lit up a sleepy village for one day only.
Wilstone was transformed with dancing showgirls, a visit from Elvis himself and a casino that tempted punters to try their luck at the annual village fete.
The fun was opened by King of Rock impersonator Alvin Printwhistle with a parade through the village aboard a vintage 1967 Cadillac on Sunday. It was led by the Queen of Wilstonia and her entourage, along with the Wilstone Showgirls who wowed the crowds.
Chairman of the fete committee Jill Walker said: “It was great to see so many people enjoying the fete – the village was packed.
“I have been overwhelmed by people’s hard work to put on the event this year. Everyone has been fantastic.”
Other attractions included a dog show, the Chapel of Love, barbecue and stalls.
