Lap dancing bid for Old Town nightclub venue

LAP dancing, strip shows and pole dancing could soon be on offer to punters in Hemel Hempstead.

Images Bar and Nightclub in High Street, Old Town, submitted a licensing application for a sexual entertainment venue to Dacorum Borough Council earlier this month.

The proposed opening hours are Monday to Thursday 7pm to 2am, Friday to Saturday 7pm to 4am and Sundays 7pm to 1am.

But council chiefs will not be writing to tell businesses and householders about the application because it is not compulsory under licensing rules.

However, nightclub bosses must display a notice outside the premises advertising the licence application and put a public notice in the Gazette.

Letters of objection or support are being accepted by the council until midnight on Monday, April 2.

A decision will then be made on whether the licence is granted by a council officer or if it will be considered in public at a meeting of the licensing committee.
