An outgoing and friendly self-starter is needed to help sell Christmas cards for homelessness charity DENS throughout the festive season.
The right volunteer would make contact with shops, organisations and businesses to encourage them to sell cards and raffle tickets. Good phone skills are needed and retail experience would be a bonus. Hours are flexible.
> Volunteers who are happy to be given the run around by a good cause are needed.
Drivers are required by Guide Dogs for the Blind to take people, and sometimes dogs, as well as equipment to different locations.
Sometimes drivers would be taking guide dog owners and their dogs to the vets or other locations.
> Volunteers are needed to be paired up with young people who are in care, and may also have a disability.
The National Youth Advocacy Service is a UK charity offering information, advice, advocacy and legal representation to children and young people up to the age of 25.
Volunteers will offer friendship and support to a young person they are matched with and will meet once a month for an agreed activity – whatever the young person, or the volunteer, are interested in.
Training will be provided, along with ongoing support.
> Poppy Appeal volunteers are needed to collect donations in return for poppies at supermarkets and train stations.
Most collections are between 9am and 5pm but some volunteers will be required up until 8pm.
