NOW the Jubilee celebrations are over, the people behind Tring Together are looking forward to the next big date on the calendar – the Tring Carnival.
The two-day event from June 29 to July 1, in Pound Meadow promises to be bigger and better than last year and may outshine the town’s Jubilees celebration.
Highlights include an antiques evening with television presenter and antiques expert John Bly, a carnival day complete with a beer tent, ferret racing, a band night and jazz afternoon.
Organised by Tring Together, which arranged the Jubilee beacon at St Peter and St Paul’s church, the carnival was revived last year after a 17-year absence from the town.
About 20,000 brochures outlining details of the event have been sent to homes in the area and organisers hope this will attract more than the 2,000 people it pulled in last year.
