A HEMEL Hempstead man who raped two women almost 25 years ago was given a life sentence on Friday.

John Walker, 51, of Cotterells, was sentenced at Oxford Crown Court to life imprisonment with a minimum term of seven and a half years imprisonment.

Walker admitted all five charges put to him at Oxford Crown Court relating to the two rapes when he appeared in January.

These included one count of rape and one count of indecent assault in connection with an attack on an 18-year-old woman at Marlow railway station in 1989, and one count of rape and two further counts of indecent assault in relation to an attack on a 25-year-old woman in Wembley in 1987.
