The new home of Hemel Hempstead Methodist Church is unable to welcome its congregation in time for Christmas due to over-running works, but the Rev Vindra Maraj-Ogden says plans are already being made for the opening service. The rebuilt church on Northridge Way is expected to open in the next three months, as its Marlowes site will be knocked down as part of The Link development.
The Rev Maraj-Ogden said: “I don’t think any new build ever goes exactly to plan and this was just a result of normal building delays.
“We are very much looking forward to moving in, and there will be an opportunity for the community to come and see the new building.
“The new site is more accessible than our Marlowes base as it is in a residential area, so we hope to expand all of the services we offer including our groups for parents with disabled children.”
