If you’ve got any leftover plants following your winter garden tidy up, the Friends of Ashridge is keen to take them off your hands.

The group needs them for its annual Spring Plant Fair on May 11, from which all the proceeds will go to the National Trust Ashridge Estate.

They’re interested in any well-footed, healthy plants – including perennials, shrubs, vegetables and herbs. Pots and compost are available on request, and those donating are asked to clearly label their offerings.

Contact John Cartwright on 01442 894984 before May 4. For more information about the organisation, visit the website here.
