Amateur astronomers from Dacorum ventured outside to watch a meteor shower late last night.
Many of the stargazers flocked to a community Facebook page to share their experience of the natural fireworks, as well as a few lucky snapshots of the starry spectacle.
One user posted: “Just sat in Kings Field watching the shooting stars with my son, great also to see all lights go off at midnight,” while another said: “In Bennetts End we’ve seen some good ones, tails and all.”
A blog post on the Tring Astronomy Centre website also advised people on the best way to view the Perseids meteor shower, which was a result of material falling from the Comet Swift-Tuttle, which last passed Earth in 1992.
