If you follow the yellow brick road to Hemel Hempstead’s Adeyfield School this week you’ll be able to catch a sparkling production of the Wizard Of Oz.
The much-loved story is taking to the stage on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to give talented pupils the chance to showcase their talents.
Students from all year groups have teamed up with staff from across the school under the direction of drama teacher Rob Flowers, and they’ve been working for months to prepare for opening night.
The school’s head of creative arts and sport Caroline Fardoe said: “We have built upon our previous success and really moved forward particularly in the beautiful attention to detail in the set and props.
“Not only that but we have raised the level of special effects involved in the show to give the audience a real wow factor.”
The cast, led by Lana Dormer, Lucy Evans, RJ Singfield, Kloe Hannaby-Farmer, Elizabeth White, Leiah Marshall and Amber-Louise Oldham are all excited about the show.
Leiah said: “It has all been very hectic but it’s all come together now and while we are nervous we are all excited, too.
“I think this will be the best show yet because the sets and costumes are so well thought out.”
Caroline Fardoe added: “All should be commended for the amount of time and effort and most of all enthusiasm they have shown to make this show a success.”
