Motorists across Hertfordshire have been facing severe rush-hour delays this morning following accidents on the M1 and the M25.
Lanes three and four of the M1 southbound at J8 for Hemel Hempstead were closed at around 8am following a multi-vehicle accident. There are still long delays in the area.
Meanwhile, emergency services are currently dealing with an accident which has closed the clockwise exit slip-road at J21A of the M25.
They were called to a collision involving a van and lorry at 8.42am, and at least one of the drivers is thought to have suffered minor injuries.
Firefighters had to use cutting equipment to free the motorist.
Herts Fire and Rescue Service has put out a warning on Twitter urging drivers to take care on the roads this morning.
It said: “We’ve already received numerous RTCs this morning! Please take care on the roads and reduce your speed according to the road conditions.”
