MCHG 12-1054 Some of the recent concert musicians were on hand at Ashridhge House for the presentation of the money they raised for the Hospice of St. Francis. In the chair is the hospice community fundraiser Sarah Ajder.

Staff at Ashridge Business school raised more than £2,000 in memory of a hugely missed work colleague who was a patient at The Hospice of St Francis.

The school organised a music evening, in which bands Operation Beer and Absolute Shambles performed, to remember their former bandmate, Steve Watson, who died of cancer in June 2011.

Popular Steve had been a business teacher at Ashridge.

Chris Johnson from the business school said: “It was a fabulous evening and part of our ongoing support of the Hospice of St Francis.

“Everyone got on well with Steve, he was a really lovely guy. We wanted to donate to the Hospice where his final days were made to be as comfortable as they possibly could have been.”
