Louise and Nigel are friends indeed

editorial image

The first grown-up show of the Old Town Hall’s new season arrives on Tuesday night in the form of My Gay Best Friend.

Louise Jameson – familiar from her high-profile roles in Doctor Who and EastEnders, and her current TV role as a monster mother in law in Doc Martin – plays a fiftysomething would-be diva who works in Boots but is about to make her stage debut.

She’s locked herself in the ladies, furious because her gay best friend Gavin – Nigel Fairs, who also wrote the piece – isn’t there to support her. Why? Oh, he’s sitting in a walk-in wardrobe, about to become a father with a lesbian couple and a turkey baster.

Adult themes from curtain up at 8pm, then – tickets are £10 with £8 concessions or £6 with Dacorum Card. Call the box office on 01442 228091 for more details.
