A PANTOMIME group will be taking a town on a magic carpet ride with its annual performance.

Chuckles pantomime group will be performing Aladdin at the Court Theatre at Pendley on Station Road, Tring, from December 31 to January 9.

The company, which has been serving up the traditional show in the town for nearly 40 years.

It prides itself on being probably being the only panto around where any child can join the cast, featuring a number for familiar actors, for a singsong on stage near the end of the performance.

Writer and director Nick Russon said: “Panto isn’t about the so-called star on the stage. Panto is about a family day out together, laughing, joking and joining in, booing the villains and cheering the heroes.

“We have many people visit us that have experienced big productions of panto sitting miles away from the stage and we constantly hear that our more personal style is preferred. So why not give it a go?”

Tickets cost £8 for adults, £5 for children under 16 and £26 for a group of two adults and two children.
