Man falls into River Gade

A MAN was taken to hospital after falling into the icy Gade at the Water Gardens in Hemel Hempstead this morning.

Ambulance crews were called to Bridge Street at around 8.20am and found the man in his 40s had pulled himself out of the water.

Gary Sanderson, spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service, said: “The man, who we believe to be in his 40s, was out of the river on our arrival and following assessments by the ambulance crews, he was taken to Watford General Hospital for further care.”
