AN indoor market will open its doors on additional days to cope with an influx of people wanting to sell homemade goods during the recession.
The arts and crafts traders will now be at Berkhamsted Town Hall on the third Sunday of every month between September and December. They already sell their wares there on the first Saturday of every month.
But market organiser Claire Patterson said: “On Saturdays, we are normally packed with stallholders and customers and there generally seems to be a lot of interest.
“I have been inundated with people wanting to do a market stall.
“It is kind of because of the economic times – people wanting to do something extra in their spare time to make some money. And it gives a lot of people a hobby to do too.”
Handmade crafts, jewellery, clothes, toys, Fair Trade and aloe vera products, photography, original artwork, coffee and cake and more will be sold at the markets.
It costs £20 to set up a stall at the Sunday market, which runs from 9.30am to 2pm. If you want to do this, email Claire at firstname.lastname@example.org
