HORSE and carriage rides through Tring Park will be a highlight of this Saturday’s spring fayre.
The Woodland Trust has agreed to open the access to Jo Jamieson and her horse and carriage for the annual event and she is hoping it could be the start of regular rides through the beautiful area.
The Mayor of Tring councillor John Allan will enjoy the first ride at 1pm.
It will last for 15 minutes and take him on a journey along the restricted footpath through the park where he will be able to take in views of the mansion house.
Founder of the town’s zoological museum Walter Rothschild famously kept a variety of animals in the park and it has been common knowledge that he once drove a team of zebras into the forecourt of Buckingham Palace.
Jo said: “The horse and carriage ride is a nice way to celebrate the launch of the spring fayre and we are hoping that we can discuss with the Woodland Trust doing it more often in the future.”
There are still a couple of rides up for grabs.
