The new Jupiter Community Free School will welcome its inaugural intake of pupils on its very first day next Monday.
Reception-age children only will be admitted for this academic year, though the school will eventually grow to 420 pupils. The little learners will start their school days on a temporary site within the Astley Cooper School in Grovehill, before the new building opens on the site of the former Jupiter Drive School in Highfield. It will form part of the West Herts Community Free Schools Trust with its sister facility in Hatfield.
Dr Sue Attard, who will act as principal of both schools, said: “This is such a privilege for me as it is an exciting time to be coming to Hemel Hempstead – we will be providing school places that are much-needed in the area.”
