Eight emergency calls were made to the fire service about a car blaze in a quiet cul-de-sac.

Firefighters were called to Briarcliff in Hemel Hempstead just before 5.30am on Sunday, where they discovered a vehicle well alight.

Two firefighters used breathing apparatus and one hose reel to put out the fire. It was extinguished by 5.45am.
