Recent cases before magistrates courts in Herts have included:

Nicola Louise Howes, 34, Queensway, Hemel Hempstead. Stole five sets of headphones worth £122.95 from TK Maxx in Watford on April 10 while on conditional discharge for a prior shoplifting offence. Fined £100, £40 costs and £20 victim surcharge.

Kevin White, 35, Livingstone Walk, Hemel Hempstead. Possession of cannabis, amphetamine and ketamine in Hemel Hempstead on January 17. Fined £73 and £20 victim surcharge.

Alex William Brown, 23, Tring Road, Wilstone. Drink driving with 58 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath in Lower Icknield Way, Tring, on May 4. Limit is 35. Fined £300, £85 costs, £30 victim surcharge and banned from driving for 16 months - to be cut by 16 weeks if course is completed by May 30, 2015.

Graham Paul Burton, 47, Brook Street, Tring. Drink driving with 1111 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath in Brook Street, Tring, on May 4. Limit is 35. Fined £180, £85 costs, £20 victim surcharge and banned from driving for 26 months - to be cut by 26 weeks if course is completed by November 19, 2015.

Richard Barlow, 43, The Waverney, Hemel Hempstead. Missed unpaid work placement on March 15 and March 16. Punished for original offence - assault by beating in Hemel Hempstead on July 22, 2012, and failing to surrender to custody at St Albans Magistrates Court on November 22, 2012. Eight weeks in prison suspended for 12 months and £85 costs.

Jay Oliver Wilson, 35, Elstree Road, Hemel Hempstead. With an accomplice, stole meat worth £135 from Tesco, Berkhamsted, on April 24, then failed to surrender to custody at St Albans Magistrates Court on May 12 Conditional discharge for 18 months, £24.86 compensation, £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

Turgut Imanli, 32, Rossgate, Hemel Hempstead. Assault at Caspers Restaurant, Hemel Hempstead, and threatened to use knife on November 11. Sent to prison for 12 weeks, suspended for 12 months, must do 120 hours of unpaid work in 12 months, £100 compensation, £85 costs and £80 victim surcharge.

Victoria Thompson, 29, Townsend, Hemel Hempstead. Drink driving with 174 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath at the BP garage forecourt in Breakspear Way, Hemel Hempstead, on April 6. Limit is 35. Must have six months of treatment for alcohol dependency, attend supervision appointments and complete 40 hours of unpaid work in 12 months, £85 costs, £60 victim surcharge and banned from driving for six months.

Darlington Mandimutsira, 31, Lawn Lane, Hemel Hempstead. Stole clothing and a suitcase worth £343.80 from TK Maxx in Hemel Hempstead on May 3. Fined £110, £85 costs and £20 victim surcharge.

Remo Albert Megenis, 42, Arkley Road, Hemel Hempstead. Assault in Hemel Hempstead on April 18. Conditional discharge for six months, £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

Luke Martin, 27, Peascroft Road, Hemel Hempstead. Sent offensive message in Hemel Hempstead on February 7 in Hemel Hempstead. Must do 40 hours of unpaid work in next 12 months, £300 costs, £50 compensation and £60 victim surcharge.

Natalie Bennett, 26, Jennings Way, Hemel Hempstead. Used a colour TV without a licence at home between January 17 and February 18. Fined £200, £120 costs and £20 victim surcharge.

Carol Humphreys, 57, High Acres, Abbots Langley. Used a colour TV without a licence at home on February 21. Fined £37, £120 costs and £20 victim surcharge.

Amie Njie, 43, Tintagel Close, Hemel Hempstead. Used a colour TV without a licence at home between October 27 and November 28. Fined £200, £120 costs and £20 victim surcharge.

Jade Roope, 24, Tingeys Close, Redbourn. Used a colour TV without a licence at home between October 26 and November 27. Fined £200, £120 costs and £20 victim surcharge.

Lewis Jason Dumbarton, 19, George Street, Hemel Hempstead. Damaged the front off-side wing of an Audi in Hemel Hempstead on January 9, and stole a jacket worth £56 from Debenhams in Hemel Hempstead on March 5. Failed to surrender to custody at St Albans Magistrates Court on March 18 and May 15. Driving without insurance in George Street, Hemel Hempstead, on March 22. Must attend supervision appointments for 12 months, fined £110, £708 compensation, £170 costs, £60 victim surcharge and six points on licence.

Corie Terence Edward Humphries, 18, Candlefield Road, Hemel Hempstead. Stole four cans of beer and two cans of Redbull worth £10.50 from Cox Pond store in Vauxhall Road, Hemel Hempstead, on February 28. Fined £92, £10.50 compensation, £50 costs and £20 victim surcharge.

Sean Paul Foster, 20, Tedder Road, Hemel Hempstead. Assault in Hemel Hempstead on January 1. Fined £90, £60 compensation, £100 costs and £20 victim surcharge.

Ben Alexander Scott, 30, Northridge Way, Hemel Hempstead. Drink driving with not less than 91 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood in Northridge Way, Hemel Hempstead, on March 10. Marie-Clare Anne Peters, 32, Paston Road, Hemel Hempstead. Drink driving with 64 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath in High Street, Hemel Hempstead, on May 5. Limit is 35. Fined £335, £85 costs, £33 victim surcharge and banned from driving for 17 months - to be cut by 17 weeks if course is completed by April 24, 2015.

Beatrice Kensema Djan, 46, Weymouth Street, Hemel Hempstead. Destroyed bedroom door worth £42 in Hemel Hempstead on December 29 and obstructed a police officer in Hemel Hempstead on December 30. Fined £160, £200 costs, £42 compensation and £20 victim surcharge.

Steven Hutchins, 37, The Copse, Hemel Hempstead. Did not pay vehicle insurance in Hemel Hempstead on November 15. Fined 3200, £110 costs and £20 victim surcharge.
