The star actress of BBC One prime-time drama Holby City will be among the hundreds taking part in this year’s fundraising Midnight Walk for The Hospice of St Francis.
Rosie Marcel plays catty heart surgeon Jac Naylor, but will show her warm-hearted side during the event as she mingles with the charity hikers.
The 37-year-old – who married owner of Berkhamsted’s The Fitness Society Ben Stacey last year – will also sound the klaxon to begin the walk at 10pm on Saturday, June 28.
Those taking part will have a choice between a five and 11-mile route between Hemel Hempstead School and Berkhamsted.
Rosie said: “The nurses and medical team at The Hospice of St Francis do a fantastic job for people in need in our local community.
“I’m delighted to be able to support this great cause by starting off the walkers.
“I’d urge everyone to sign up with their family, mates or work colleagues to be part of a really special night to remember. Hope to see you there!”
The sponsored walk is open to everyone, and people are encouraged to take part with their families, work colleagues, clubs and friends.
Entry is £20 per person, £15 for under-18s – and includes a pink T-shirt, refreshments en-route, medal and breakfast after you’ve finished.
Sponsorship is vital to help ensure that the vital work of the Northchurch-based hospice, which cares for people living with life-shortening illnesses, can continue.
The charity relies on public donations for 80 per cent of the £4.7million needed to fund its free services every year.
Hospice community fundraiser Jamie Smith said: “Hundreds of people dressed in pink with bunny ears flashing and all chatting animatedly is a sight to behold.
“I’m sure Rosie will help get everyone in the mood to stride the streets and raise much-needed funds for us!”
