Hertfordshire County Council has welcomed an announcement that schools in the county will receive an extra £11.2m of government funding.

The Department for Education confirmed that Herts was among the beneficiaries of a £390million cash boost to create greater fairness in the allocation of school funding across the UK.

Schools Minister David Laws said: “This boost is the biggest step toward fairer schools funding in a decade.”
