A family fun day at Bennetts End adventure playground was aimed at encouraging people to use the free children’s amenities in Dacorum.

The event, held last Tuesday, featured Hemel Hempstead MP Mike Penning as the guest of honour, who said: ““It was a fun day and the children – and I think everyone else – had a great time!

“Dacorum’s Adventure Playgrounds are a great resource and I would encourage people to make the most of them. There are lots of fun activities and the staff are very helpful and friendly.”

The event was organised by lead officer Gill Grace, along with parents and supporters Malcolm and Gemma Hemming, to encourage new people to come along and learn about the playground and the activities that take place there.

The day featured an array of events from bouncy castles and face painting, to laser quasar and karaoke.

<oney raised from stalls will be used to pay for new equipment and events such as Christmas parties for children who use the facility.

The Bennetts End Adventure Playground is in Rant Meadow and caters for children aged six to 12.

School holiday opening hours are 9.30am to 5.30pm, while a youth club for young people aged 11 to 16 takes place every Wednesday from 7pm to 9pm.
