A brother is getting in the saddle to raise money for the charity that helped look after his poorly sister.
Pedal power fan Graham Botwright, of Berkhamsted, will be taking part in Prudential’s RideLondon-Surrey 100 on Sunday, August 10.
He is raising money for the Children’s Trust, which provided his sister Karen, who suffered from multiple disabilities, with residential care.
The date of the fundraiser is especially important for Graham as Karen died on August 10, 1985.
Graham said: “The Children’s Trust gave Karen and our whole family the best possible life in very difficult circumstances.
“The expertise, care and most importantly the love we all received from everyone associated with the trust allows families who are seriously disadvantaged to have hope and joy.”
He will be cycling from London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to Surrey before returning to finish at the Mall with a team of five friends.
Graham, who hopes to raise £2,500, will also be supported by his wife Carmel and father Richard - a former director of the Children’s Trust.
More than 30 of his friends and family will also be raising cash for the cause in teams along the route.
