A callous thief who swiped two charity collection boxes and attempted to steal a third is being sought by police.
Officers have now released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to as part of their investigation into the incidents, which took place on Friday in Berkhamsted and Tring.
The first happened between 11.30am and 9.30pm in the Robin Hood pub in Brook Street, Tring, where a Rennie Grove Hospice Care charity box was stolen. The crime reference for this offence is D3/14/256.
At around 12.40pm on the same day at The Bell in Tring’s High Street, a Lucy Air Ambulance for Children charity box was also stolen. Police have issued the crime reference D3/14/259 for this incident.
Shortly before at midday, the crook grabbed a Dreamflight charity box in the George and Dragon in Northchurch, but was challenged by bar staff and dropped the box before running away. This crime is referenced D2/14/435.
