Hemel Hempstead’s Queen’s Square welcomed royalty of the Hollywood kind over the weekend.
The Adeyfield shopping precinct was used as a location for the filming of upcoming movie Trespass Against Us, starring A-lister Michael Fassbender of X Men and 12 Years A Slave fame.
The square was used to shoot a daring stunt involving a car chase.
A stuntman was used to film the scenes which included driving underneath the shopping parade arches and onto the road, where he was confronted by the police. A dustbin truck was also staged to pull out during the chase before mounting a kerb.
According to Protagonist Pictures, behind the film, Trespass Against Us is an original drama set within three generations of the rowdy Cutler family live who live as outlaws – hunting hares, ram-raiding stately homes and taunting the police.
Fassbender’s character Chad ends up caught between his father’s archaic principles, trying to do right by his kids and the letter of the law.
The road was closed from 7.30am to 6.30pm on Saturday and Sunday, and security personnel and Herts Police officers were present throughout the filming.
